Garlic Scape Pesto

This delicious twist on the traditional pesto recipe has a little bit of a bite to it from the garlic scapes. Spread on toast and serve with fresh tomatoes or a little tomato salsa, or toss with fresh cooked pasta.

A couple of handfuls of fresh garlic scape, cut into pieces 5-10cm long
A big handful of fresh basil
1/2 - 1 cup of freshly grated Parmesan cheese
A handful of walnuts, toasted (for a nut-free version, use pine nuts)
1/2 cup(ish) extra virgin olive oil

Put everything into a food processor and pulse, pouring the oil in a thin stream through the feed tube, until roughly or smoothly pureed.
